Burn Tissue

In the U.S. someone is burned every 29 minutes. In the capacity of burn treatment, tissue donation can have the same life-saving impacts as organ donation.  AlloSource is the one of the nation’s largest providers of allograft skin used by burn centers to treat and heal severely burned patients. It is one of the few US tissue networks providing fresh allograft skin, preferred by many surgeons to treat their most critically burned patients.

Although synthetic skin substitutes or animal skin can also be used in some of these medical procedures, human allograft skin is considered the gold standard and preferred by surgeons because it may stimulate new blood vessel growth and is not as prone to infection.
