Donate Life Float Preparing For Rose Parade  |  December 30, 2014

Rose DedicationHundreds of volunteers, along with donor families and organ, eye and tissue recipients, are preparing for the 12th annual Donate Life float. The theme of this year’s float is “The Never-Ending Story,” which highlights the enduring power of organ, eye and tissue donation.

Yesterday, parade attendees placed thousands of rose dedications on the float bearing messages of remembrance, hope and love. Volunteers will be hard at work today and tomorrow, finalizing decorations on the float.

The 2015 Donate Life Rose Parade float will feature 60 butterflies emerging from an open book, representing the potential number of lives impacted by a single donor. The float includes 72 floragraph portraits of deceased donors whose legacies live on through their loved ones. Thirty transplant recipients will ride the float and 12 living organ donors will walk alongside to demonstrate their ongoing strength.

Be sure to watch for the Donate Life float in the 126th Rose Parade on January 1, 2015 at 8 a.m. (PST)!
