Two Tissue Recipients Share Stories of Gratitude  |  February 3, 2014

While many people are aware of the life-saving benefits of organ donation, the life-saving impact of tissue donation is lesser known. An article from the Toronto Sun highlights two men who greatly benefited from the generous gift of donated tissue.

Ralph Walker, a retired Canadian Forces corporal, survived being burned over 90% of his body in a propane explosion. He spent two months in a medically induced coma while doctors used donated skin to heal his burns.

Mohan Bissoondial is grateful for the cornea donations that saved his eyesight. Mohan now campaigns to raise awareness for tissue donation in Canada.
