February 14 is National Donor Day, a day designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to honor generous donors and raise awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation.
According to the United Network for Organ Sharing, over 121,000 people are on the waiting list for an organ transplant. Over 1 million tissue transplants are performed every year and the need for tissue is on the rise.
While many people will celebrate their love through Valentine’s Day, thousands of others will celebrate their love by honoring those who gave the gift of life to a grateful recipient.
